McWilliams Apple Orchard is a small, family orchard near Maxwell, IA. We have four different varieties of apples: Honeycrisp, Jonathan, Chieftain, and Haralson. See our Varieties of Apples page for information on each type of apple.
If you are looking for a quiet, Iowa, country apple orchard where you can relax and pick your own apples, this is the place for you. We don't have any other fancy entertainment, but we are simple, friendly, and best of all local.

We also have apple wood for smoking. It is sold in custom-sized chunks for $0.50/pound. Apple wood is available year round, and can be picked up at the orchard or delivered to a location on the north side of Des Moines.
